Compared with traditional PE (polyethylene) ice bags, the production technology of degradable 5KG ice bags has the following main differences:
1. Material differences
Traditional ice bags: mainly use LDPE (low-density polyethylene) or LLDPE (linear low-density polyethylene), which have good flexibility and low-temperature resistance.
Degradable ice bags: use biodegradable materials such as PLA (polylactic acid), PBAT (polybutylene adipate/terephthalate), PHA (polyhydroxyalkanoate), or use some degradable masterbatch and PE blending modification to improve degradation performance.
2. Film processing technology
Traditional PE film is produced by blow molding or cast film process.
Degradable materials have different melting points and processing properties. They need to be blown at specific temperatures and pressures, and the cooling system needs to be adjusted to ensure that the film is uniformly formed and has appropriate toughness and tensile strength.
3. Low temperature resistance
Traditional PE ice packs can remain soft and not easy to crack at -20℃ to -40℃.
Degradable materials are relatively brittle, so it is necessary to optimize the formula, add toughening agents or select low-temperature resistant degradable materials (such as some PBAT copolymers) to enhance low-temperature impact resistance.
4. Sealing and heat sealing process
Traditional PE ice packs use heat sealing or high-frequency welding processes, and have high sealing strength.
The heat sealing temperature window of degradable ice packs is narrow, and the sealing strength is greatly affected by the material formula. It is necessary to optimize the sealing temperature and time to ensure good sealing without affecting the degradation performance.
5. Degradation method
Traditional ice packs are difficult to degrade, and can only be recycled and reused to reduce environmental pollution.
Degradable ice packs can be decomposed into water and carbon dioxide by microorganisms in composting environments, soil or marine environments. The degradation time depends on the material type and environmental conditions (such as temperature, humidity, and microbial species).
6. Production cost and environmental certification
Traditional PE raw materials are relatively low in price, mature in production technology, and low in cost.
Degradable materials are more expensive, and the production process may require additional environmental certifications, such as OK Compost, BPI, EN 13432, ASTM D6400, etc., to ensure that the product meets biodegradation standards.
The production technology of the degradable 5KG ice bag is different from that of the traditional PE ice bag in terms of material selection, processing technology, low temperature resistance, sealing method and degradation characteristics. The production process needs to optimize the formula and process parameters to ensure that the product has the functions of traditional ice bags and meets environmental protection requirements.
