How Are Flat Clear Bags Typically Sealed?

Aug 07, 2025

Flat clear bags can be sealed in a variety of ways, depending on the bag's design and intended use. The following are some common methods:

1. Heat Seal

Use a sealer or iron to heat the bag opening, melting the plastic and bonding it. This method is suitable for PE flat bags and offers a strong seal, making it ideal for food packaging or applications requiring high moisture resistance.

2. Manual Fold Seal

Fold the bag opening several times and secure it with tape or a clip. Some bags are designed with a lightweight roller that can be secured with a snap ring after rolling, making them easy to reuse.

3. Self-Seal or Zipper Seal

Some flat clear bags have been upgraded to self-sealing designs, with a press line or zipper on the bag opening that seals by aligning and pressing (such as airtight bags and zipper bags). These bags can be opened and closed repeatedly and are suitable for storing small items.

4. Sealing with Tape or Stickers
Seal the bag directly with tape or a label. This method is quick and easy, but offers a weak seal and is suitable for temporary packaging or dust control.

5. Special Sealing Devices
For example, the ETIK TACK label allows the bag to be opened and closed using a grip hole. This is suitable for applications where frequent opening and closing is required.

Notes:
Material: PE bags are soft and easy to seal, but should be protected from high temperatures.
Sealing Requirements: Heat seals or self-sealing strips are recommended for food or moisture-proof items. Tape or crimping can be used for general items.
Choosing the appropriate sealing method based on specific needs ensures practicality and extends the life of the bag.
